Black Market Wines produces out of the BC Wine Studio in Okanagan Valley vineyards in collaboration with Mark Simpson. Black Market products are produced virtually, allowing owners Rob and Michelle to work with a broad range of varietals, creating unique and quality wine. With long warm days and cool nights, the Okanagan Falls area is responsible for some of Canada’s top and high-quality wine production.

Bright and juicy on entry, wild red berries and rhubarb dominate the pallet. Omertà Rosé provides a crisp acidity, a surprisingly smooth creamsicle note and a dry finish.

Black Market Secret Society wine provides a fresh aroma of lychee and yellow citrus fruits, grass and a hint of butterscotch. Balanced with a crisp acidity and hint of sweetness, you will notice a prink grapefruit, lemon drop and mineral undertones. Secret Society is dry on the palate.

Black Market Semillon wine provides aromas of a slightly bruised apple, lemon pith, pear, and clover honey. The honey note is more prominent on the palate, with the fresh apple and lemon notes you will taste a subtle peach component. Crisp and dry on the palate, the beautiful nervousness and tension finishes with a medium body. The Semillion wine has a slight creamy texture from the barrel aging and minimal stirring.

Elegant and well-balanced, Black Market Sydicate is approachable yet with enough structure to enable cellaring and enjoyment over the next 5 years. With a seductive opening taste of black cherries, currant, pomegranate and plum, Sydicate is layered with subtle cedar notes and a floral lift. Concentrated, with well- integrated tannins, the wines acidity will linger into a long finish.

The medium-bodied Syrah provides an elegant mouthfeel. The smooth tannins are lifted with a hint of acidity. Syrah provides a sweet aroma of violets, and red cherry with savoury notes of black olive, black cherry, vanilla and cinnamon.
With only 5 barrels created, the Syra wine is approachable now but has great potential. As the wine lingers you will notice hallmark pepper notes on the long finish.
